Care taker and tumor suppressor genes are the same thing. Cancer is uncontrolled cellular growth which leads to tumor formation and possibl metatsis(spreading) to other tissues. This causes damage in those affected tissues as well a organ failure and death..When tumor suppressor genes are "on" uncontrolled cellular growth is suppressed.(Less likely to happen.) If there is a mutation in the tumor suppressor gene, it can be turned "off" leading to uncontrolled cellular growth.(i,e cancer)
