Hello,
Thank you for posting on Wyzant.
It seems like you would like to find something like "The Turning Point" in the play or book. (The turning point means something that happens that changes the story.) The question is asking about romance and John Proctor, so you want to find the parts the John Proctor is romantic, as well as, the turning point in which he becomes a hero. If he is not a romantic hero, then you want to find the times he could have been romantic but wasn't. These sections will be your evidence.
How to write -
You should put you answer first then state the evidence. Example: John Proctor would highly be consider a romantic hero. He simply does have a liking for... and he shows empathy towards....
This is just an example of how to start your writings. Depending on how long it needs to be, you can ask yourself, Why? Where? How? When? Who? What?
If you would like, I can help you with your writings. I am a certified English teacher and I will be able to teach you the skills to write quick and efficient within just a few classes. If anyone is interested, please feel free to contact me.
I am happy to answer questions at anytime for free. Let me know if you need more help.
Good luck!
Sincerely,
Niki
