The key to conjugating reflexive verbs is to 1) remember that these are actions that we do to or for ourselves. With the first verb, acostarse, for example: unless referring to caring for a small child, physically lying down and going to bed is not something that anyone else does for you. 2) It's also important to remember that there are two separate components to a reflexive verb - the actual verb part of the word, and the reflexive pronoun. For "acostarse," the actual verb part of the word is "acostar," and the pronoun is "se."

With these points in mind, you want to be sure that both the verb ending & the reflexive pronoun used refer to the same person. That means that if the subject of the verb is "yo", you need the verb ending for the first person singular subject (yo) - which is "o". Then for the pronoun, you need to remove the "se" from the end, change it to the corresponding pronoun for a first person singular subject - "me"; and then move the pronoun in front of the conjugated verb.

Similarly, if the subject of the verb is "tú," then you need the second person, singular verb ending (either "as" or "es", depending on the verb), as well as the reflexive pronoun that corresponds to second person singular - "te", and place the pronoun in front of the conjugated verb. This pattern then repeats for all other forms of the verb.

These rules apply regardless of whether the verb part of the word has a stem-change or not. For those that also have a stem-change, follow all of the above guidelines for the verb ending and reflexive pronoun before the verb. Then you also want to apply the stem-change to all forms of the verb except for the "nosotros" and "vosotros" forms of the verb. There are all 3 of the major categories of stem-changers in the listed exercises: e - ie; e- i; & o - ue.
