"To express a clear connection", I would think any piece of caligraphy work with the meaning of words that are clearly pointing to the spirit of each philosophy would work. There are many artworks symbolize Chinese religious beliefs and philosophy. Stone tablets are used to record how religions spread in China in ancient times. These tablets also become the calligraphy treasures preserved in temples. Another one I know is Chinese pottery which offers a strong evidence of people’s beliefs at a particular time. For example, from 6000-7000 years ago, our ancestors made pottery wares in various shapes and patterns to express their feelings about nature and human race. It’s pretty normal to see the difference of buddha statues in Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty because the statues of Buddhas made in Tang are more plum.
