What is the tone of this line?

I am preparing for an aptitude test and then I came to a question. I need to find the 'tone' of a line that is written below.*John likes work, it fascinates him! He can sit and look at it for hours.*I am not sure whether it is good place to ask this type of question. If it's not, please let me know. I would say the tone is enthusiastic. It conveys enthusiasm for work. Do watch for comma splices. You need a period, not a comma after "work" because you have two separate sentences or two independent clauses.
