Hi Hannah! Sorry--I posted an earlier answer and deleted it, because I realized it was incomplete. It's a little hard to pick the right answer without seeing the passage, but let me see if I can help you.
The question is asking you which option "best supports" the idea that human teens and animals are similar.
Option A says that "animals and teen humans encounter the same sorts of challenges." "Same" means that they have similar experiences.
Option B mentions human teens, but not animals. So let's eliminate Option B.
Option C talks about both human teens and animals. But it focuses on how human teens affect animals. It doesn't compare humans and animals. So let's eliminate Option C.
Option D identifies an analogy or parallel between human teens and animals. Teens "chase novelty and test boundaries," in a way that is similar to animals' "predator inspection."
So Options A and D both discuss similarities between humans and animals. If I were you, I would choose whichever quotation "best supports" the overall argument of the passage. (But again, without seeing the passage, it's a little hard for me to know which answer the test is looking for.)
Does that help at all? Please let me know if you need more assistance.

Hi Hannah, I would think that "A" would best support the similarities. The statement appears to be the main idea of a paragraph AND it compares challenges that both "adolescent animals and teen humans" encounter. The other statements could be "supporting details" if you provided data to back up them up. Good luck!05/12/23
