Hi! My name is Rongzhi and I am passionate about history and writing
- An important invention from the IR is the steam engine. We'll use it
- Think in terms of cause-and-effect.
- The steam engine is important because it made trains and steamboats possible. These latter inventions, powered by the steam engine, accelerated the speed at which human beings could travel from one place to another, which then facilitated communication and trade among people. This is only one reason
- It matters to us because machines we use for high-speed transportation (whether it be automobiles, trains, or planes) would not exist without the steam engine.
