If you could give me some interesting cinema or TV that would fit the criteria that would be great.
You are to write an essay, of three to five (or more) typed pages, which explores a piece of literature, cinema, television, video game, etc. that itself explores this topic: the Qualities of a leader (ruler, general/admiral, captain, sergeant, etc.) in an historically based work.
By ‘historically’, it must be a biographical and/or historical piece set within an actual war/conflict - namely fictionalized character(s) from prose (novels & short stories), drama, or film/TV, etc. set in a historically true conflict/war/armed revolution (excluding what we have gone over in class and what you’ll use for 2nd Essay). The character(s) may or may not be based on a real person but the context for conflict must be real – no sci-fi, for example.
This is not only a summary of the person’s/character’s actions but an analysis of what you believe, for example, what the person/character thought they stood for, what impact they had on the country, what they may represent to you and other people. You must show your thinking and the evidence and reasoning behind it. Be sure to also refer to, and document, Sun Tzu’s ideas whenever relevant for your argument. You may use any part of his book.
