Questioning is one of the major part of our everyday life. Effective Questioning is an ability to deliver a valuable yet difficult query into a simple form of sentence which are easy to understood by the respondent in order for him/her to answer the question effectively and efficiently.
What is a question?
A question is any sentence which has an interrogative form or function. In classroom settings, teacher questions are considered as instructional cues or stimuli that convey to students the content elements to be learned and directions for what they are to do and how they are to do it. This calls for the teachers’ careful planning and crafting of questions.
Importance of Questioning Skills: Questions should play a central role in the learning process. Because of this, we need to carefully plan our questions in order to guide the students toward further investigation and a deeper understanding of the concepts being stressed. In other words, we need to teach them how to think critically, logically, and creatively by exposing them to a culture of thinking through our good questioning.
