What is innervation mean ?

My teacher wanted me to search about Skeletal muscle innervation so what am I suppose to search I was not able to find anything when I typed that to google. I need help please.

Innervate means to 'supply nerves to.' So in your case, we are supply nerves to a skeletal muscle.

Each skeletal muscle fiber in a skeletal muscle is innervated by a single motor axon (part of a nerve cell).

This axon may also innervate other muscle fibers, as well. If that is the case, all of the fibers innervated by the same axon are called a motor unit.

Excitation signals from the nerve cell are the only way to functionally activate the skeletal muscle fiber to contract.

I assume that they are likely referring to the neuromuscular junction (NMJ). Here is a simplified version to help you with your studies. So when you google NMJ you should be able to find what you need as opposed to "skeletal muscle innervation".
