Usually I write my titles in two parts, with the first being more stylish and the second more academic. For example:
"Staring at the World through Rose Colored Glasses: A Survey of False Memories and Their Influence"
or
"Welcome to the Machine: An Exploration of Social Evolution in Postmodernist America"
By using this structure, you could capture your readers' attention while at the same time providing the content of the essay. So you could write something like, "Parasitic Nightmares: The Causes and Prevention of Sleeping Sickness."
