AP Research Topics

Hi. I’m stuck on a topic to pick for AP research. I need to find a gap in my research and I can’t seem to find one. I was wondering if anybody can help me find a gap in my research (something that has never been researched before)?


  1. Nurse patient quality care and fatigue due to long 12 hour day shifts vs night shifts- already researched
  2. clam depopulation and see if clams can be used as filters for algae blooms- already researched

Have you tried the listing technique (or a bubble map) to brainstorm based off of your key words? What are some other side effects of long nursing shifts? What are some other causes of poor quality care? What effect do those long shifts have on a nurse's mind, body, family, etc.? What are some proposed remedies?

Hello! Thank you for your response! During the one hour span, I have actually came up with a plausable research topic. Teen behavior and teens being placed in adult roles of responsibility without knowledge or experience for a day and how it affects their reaction times
