What if I can’t achieve a bachelor’s in Biology?? Help

Listen, I have wanted to go into the medical field my whole life. I know I will thrive in healthcare and that it is what I want to do; however, my issue is that I struggled with every single science course I took in high school (like a D average, seriously), and I chose to major in BIOLOGY so I can then continue on to medical school. I told myself that the science teachers I had were just bad and that’s why I struggled, but what if I just can’t do it? I’m willing to put the time and effort in because this is really what I want, and I’m eager to learn all of the science branches. I just need some reassurance, maybe advice from someone majoring in a science? Feedback appreciated!!! Thanks!

So, I'm curious if you've stopped and looked at what aspects of the science subject you were struggling to understand. Learning science is all about building on the prior foundations you build. Jumping into a high chem, bio, and physics course can be really difficult if you don't understand the basics from prior classes.

Most peoples' failure to understand science doesn't come from not having a mindset from it, but not realizing how important those early science days were. Go back and revisit some of it. Are you finding new information and discovering that you can understand it? Then, you can do it. Just rebuild.

I have been in the academic and admissions fields for many years. It is important to first figure out why you want to go into the medical school. It would be best at this point to do some research on schooling you need to become a doctor. I find many students are dead set on a career but do not know the courses required to get there. The best litmus test to determine if medical school is in your future would be your grades in the sciences and math. There are many paths to working in any medical environment.

Your grades are problematic. Best resource would be to go to medical school curriculum, not just the admissions offices where you find out how to get in. The goal here is to figure out the courses you would take after you are admitted to determine if that is the pathway you want to pursue.
