I assess and track student progress through ongoing observation, reading and writing samples, phonics practice, fluency checks, and individualized skill-based activities. I pay close attention to each student’s strengths, areas of growth, confidence level, and ability to apply skills independently during lessons. I also use informal assessments and targeted practice to monitor progress in areas such as phonemic awareness, decoding, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills in Spanish.

I believe communication with families is very important, so I provide updates on student progress and areas we are continuing to strengthen. My goal is to make sure students feel supported, motivated, and confident while building strong literacy foundations step by step.

My formative assessments may be in the form of brief quizzes and exit tickets using Quizlet, Kahoot or Google Forms. Student reflections on the covered material is another method of my formative assessments. The summative assessments may be in the form of tests or projects to evaluate overall learning.
