It is frustrating to me that the Educational system ignores children that are not showing the range of normal scores; educationally, they do not fit into classifications, norms, stanines, or behavorial traits; some teachers resort to humiliating private remarks as "dumb as dishwater," or the "alphabet soup-kid." Emerson said that consistency was the hallmark of mediocrity. . . and he dances to a different tune. Yes, he cannot stop and listen; yes, she/ he wanders away from completing projects that do not interest him/her. Yes, you can teach him/her if you find a pathway into what is the key enjoyment---dogs, cats, hamsters, horses, or soft fur, soft textures, hard, rough textures, or music, trats, and love affirmations. And listening with empathy, kindness, and respect.
