Would you die to protect your name/reputation or would you lie in order to live, as was the question posed to so many people in Salem? Compare/contrast yourself to Proctor’s actions

Most would lie to save themselves.

but if you're young and idealistic, you may choose death like Patrick Henry

or if you're old and you'll die soon anyway, might as well make your death worth something

but if you're inbetween with dependents who willl be hurt by your death, then you care far more about them than about any "name" or legacy, although you might want them to change their names, and explain how to do it, during your last years on earth.
