Why are violent words substituted for general words?

I am not sure. I have my ideas but I will let you decide the reason why. In the meantime, though, I can give you peaceful or neutral substitutes: Instead of: "You killed it!" use-----------> "You did great! Good job! Awesome job!" "You're killing it!"--------> "You are doing well!" "You're killing me."------> "You are leaving me in suspense." "It's a straight shot from here."------>"It's a straight line from here." "He shoots from the hip."-----> "He tells you how he really feels." "She gunned it."----> "She left here quickly." OR "Her started her car up quickly." Note: If any of these phrases are a reflection of what is actually happening in the moment, aka, you are truly in danger, call 911. Otherwise, my invitation to us all, including me, is to reduce violent phrases. Language is powerful after all. Another invitation: add more neutral and/or peaceful phrases :)
