Hello Jamie,
Great question...
Formal writing versus informal is mostly about the choice of wording. Casual or slang language is informal. Whereas more advanced language is used in formal writing. Also, in formal writing one wants to avoid being too "wordy". I am going to bold the parts that feel informal to me for a few of the sentences. Then I will offer a more formal option.
Of course, this is just one way to rewrite this. There are many other ways. But the basic idea is to upgrade the wording to more "formal", so to speak, way of wording one's ideas.
I am leaving some sentences at the end for you to try rewording yourself. Using a Thesaurus really helps to give you some idea of the various other words you might use.
I will be very happy to read the upgraded version you create. :)
Many well-wishes,
Lorelei

Romeo and Juliet is a story about two people who fall in love.
Romeo and Juliet is a timeless tale of thwarted love, set in the tumultuous age of the Italian Renaissance.
They are from two families who don’t like each other. The two sneak around and get married without their parents knowing.
The two lovers, who hail from separate feuding families, are forced to hide their secret love and "taboo" marriage.
Family fighting gets worse and worse and then people Juliet and Romeo both love are killed.
As the feuding between the families increases, both sides suffer great losses of their loved ones.
This makes it impossible for them to be a couple because Romeo is kicked out of the city they live in, Verona.
When this illicit love is finally revealed, Romeo is scorned and driven from the couple's home city of Verona, Italy. These trying circumstances make it impossible for the two lovers to live together in happiness.

That is my version of the first part. What is your version of the second part below?
