I believe that simple yes or no is not sufficient to answer this question. It reads somewhat like an ad for online learning, so I wonder where it is from. Is the online learning interactive, allowing for opportunities for practice in all the areas of language including speaking? How many students are in the in-person class, and how many are in the online class? What are the qualifications of the teachers? Is the online class being done through an respected institution with qualified teachers. Also there are differences in people. Some would respond better to the atmosphere and relationships of an in-person class which might provide motivation. Others might prefer the online setting. It's a complicated issue, but both can certainly be done well.
