Taylor: Yeah it was crazy I thought we were going to be flies in a spider’s web!

Taylor: I was too scared to even leave at one point.

Kayla: Makes sense considering darkness is a mysterious cave.

Taylor: I don’t even know why I like our boss when all she ever does is make me work the scary nighttime late shifts.

I think that in this case, mysterious cave refers to the idea/metaphor that darkness can last and go on forever, make you feel lost and lonely inside, and cause you to hear echoes of your own voice and thoughts inside your mind as you continue to travel down the scary, sometimes risky and dangerous path of everyday life.
