Q: Is it important to keep my mind active during summer months?

A: Yes, it is imperative that you continue to learn and keep your mind active while you are not in school. This is done best by attempting the following: Sleep 8-10 hours every night. Eat a balanced meal, with lots of Omega-3 Fatty acid food, or DHA, found in fish and in supplements. Reading every day at least 20 minutes, improves your vocabulary, and creates neurological pathways open in the brain. If you watch TV, look at your phone, and youtube the summer away, you will not only lose what you worked so hard to learn last year, but it makes for a tough transition when you get to school in the fall. Do yourself a solid, and grab a few books and place in front of the TV remote, next to your bed at night, and one by the toilet. You were created for more than just TikTok and Bubblecrush!

Depends on your future career and what you want to do. The best advice is to invest in your future by organizing your time for next semester if you are in school. However, in terms of monetary concerns it always good to learn new habit or pursue ventures that you seem worthy such as startup ideas, reading books, and investing in yourself by perhaps learning programming, do your own taxes, and at the most you are learning to be independent and not wasting your time. Time is the most valuable currency we have. If you are really concerned about being a high performer, challenge yourself everyday to new heights.
