Question

Is there a tutor than can help me with the Writing Process?

You start with the title. If you are analyzing two characters you stick to the two characters. Do you use graphic organizers? I would start with a character trait web for each character. Do they share similar traits? backgrounds? interests? How does each character develop in the story? In the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Ponyboy changes but Johnny does not. WHY?

Ahhh, the writing process…. DUN DUN DUNN! (insert LOUD shrieking screams here)

I’ve never understood exactly what it is about writing, that makes the entire concept almost unbearable to fathom. Is it the thought of simply being unable to find the words? Or is it find the right words? Or is it finding any words? I’ll have to keep thinking about that one. 

Could it be that format you’re supposed to follow? You know, the one with the abbreviations you can’t remember, but it’s obviously important, for some reason or another. I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that you’ll never use that format again outside of school. (you’re probably right) (you’re probably definitely right)

Maybe it’s that you just type really slow. Slow…ly. Casual speak, is slow. You type slow. 

It’s possible you’re just scared! Terrified even.

Whether the words escape you, or the formatting is impossible to follow, or you just type really badly, or you’re just frozen in fear of writing, whatever it is for you, I pinky promise that there’s a fix. And you know when you pinky promise, it’s serious.

I know what it’s like to feel like you’re writing just isn’t cutting it. When you’re going through school, and getting graded on your writing….ugghhhh…. it’s the worst!

So, whether you have: a thesis you cannot put together, a legal brief to draft, an essay to write, a research proposal that seems to be missing some parts, a resume that’s flat, a blog that is just not saying much, a paper that will not make the right point, or a book in your brain that is clawing its way out, I CAN HELP YOU!

Whether you contact me on here or not, I just want to tell you, and anyone else who reads this…. Never stop trying to write well. Whatever that means. Just keep writing.
