In my bag 1/3 of the quarters is the same as 2/5 of the dimes. I have 8 more quarters than dimes. How many coins do i have

Let's say you have X dimes and X+8 quarters

1/3 (x+8) = 2/5 x

x+8 /3 =2x/5

5x +40 = 6x

x = 40 dimes

x+8 = 40 +8= 48 quarters

40 dimes and 48 quarters
