Riddle answers please!!

Question

1. i have multiple meanings but I am mostly known as a phenomenon that has various different titles. If you're at the right place and right time, you might be able to see me but be sure to stay awake for I'm only visible at night! 
2. If you look hard enough, you may be able to find me on the ground but don't be quick to judge! I may not have a pretty exterior but I am beautiful and rare on the inside. If you hold me close to you, I will bring you good luck and prosperity.

I'm not sure if these are right, but I have two possible suggestions for the first.

Shooting stars (or meteors), or Aurora Borealis (or nothern lights).
