Eggs are produced by oogenesis and sperms are produced by spermatogenesis.
Men and women have completely different physiology as well as DNA repair systems.
Mutations, lesions or errors in DNA replication are repaired/corrected by these repair systems in right physiological environment.
In general germ cells (oocytes and spermatocytes) are more sensitive to oxidative and other stress that cause errors.
Then these errors are readily evident in progeny, in somatic cells errors get greater opportunity to get corrected due to active cell proliferation and therefore, germ cells as well as processes producing germ cells are more sensitive to genetic error.
