So if your car has greater than 220,000 miles on it, that's when you need repairs. So you can start your inequality with (your car's miles) > 220,000.

 

Now you need an expression to describe how many miles your car has on it. Your car gets 16,000 miles per year. So if you drive for y years, then your car has (16000*y) miles on it. 

 

So now your inequality looks like this, and you should continue to solve it for y:

16,000*y > 220,000
