asked 06/26/25Sharing a lesson link
Hi,
My son is going to be visiting family next week but we don't want him to miss his lesson. Is it possible to share the lesson link with my family so they can help my son access his lesson? I don't want to make them log into my account (I use my google log in) and my son isn't bringing his ipad on the trip. Thanks so much. Katie C
(PS - the lesson isn't schedule yet - we had our first lesson last night and waiting on confirmation from our tutor for next week)

Yes, you can absolutely share the lesson link with a family member so your son can join from their device. Once your tutor confirms the lesson, Wyzant will generate a unique classroom link. You can simply copy that link from your messages or calendar and send it to whoever will be helping him log in. They won’t need access to your Google login or your Wyzant account — the link itself is enough for him to join. Just make sure the device has a good internet connection, a working microphone, and ideally a quiet spot for him to focus. If your son isn’t bringing his iPad, a laptop or desktop with Chrome usually works best for the Wyzant online classroom.

Hello Katie,
Thank you for your question. My sense is that it is indeed possible to share a lesson link. Once a session is created, you can right click on the link, copy it, and send it in a message to your family.
That said, the ability of your son to join a session is uncertain. I’ve had students report being able to do so successfully without signing in and others share that they couldn’t. For that reason, it may be worth a test before your son departs, if possible.
One other consideration is to temporarily change your sign-in option during the trip so that your family can more easily access your account. That may be a helpful back-up should there be any issues.
