Spanish Tutoring, and Guitar Lessons
Phonics deals with how the sounds of a language are written, enabling the student to reproduce the sounds of a language based on the combinations of letters that the student sees. Young children who learn to use phonics to "sound out" words can usually learn to read more quickly, and in so doing, become more confident readers and writers. Also, phonics can be especially helpful for those learning English as a second language. For those students whose first language is based on Latin, (such as Spanish, Italian, or Portuguese), the vowels in their languages have only one sound, whereas in English a vowel can have multiple sounds. Studying English phonics can help such students become familiar with the sounds of English quicker than may otherwise be the case.
