Should I wait to become an American citizen until I can take the USCIS interview in my native language?

You can wait for the USCIS interview until you are qualified to be exempt in English and use your native language to take the test. However, you will not be able to enjoy the benefits of being a U.S. citizen and have the privilege of traveling with a U.S. passport. It is better to take the citizenship exam as soon as you are qualified. English test in the USCIS exam will not be too hard if you can hold a basic English conversation with others. I have heard this question before from so many individuals who are worried about taking the test in English because of their own insecurity in speaking and writing English. No. Please don't. You can become an American as soon as you are legally eligible. Do not wait decades! I feel strongly about this issue because I witnessed my own father wait decades to take the USCIS interview when he was eligible to take it in Spanish, his first language. This, even though he had called USA home for over decades. When he finally did get his United States passport, he was only able to enjoy it for a few years. He died shortly thereafter. My humble opinion is that you not wait to complete the N-400 application for United States citizenship. Once you get your USCIS interview date, hire me so I can assist you in preparing for it.
