How can you check that your sentences in English academic writing are complete?
One way is to make sure the sentence has a subject and a verb. Another way is to make sure the sentence is a complete thought. For example, if your sentence begins with "When the people protested...," something needs to be added: when X happens, then Y happens.

A great resource is Grammarly. They will not only do spell check, but they will also help you adjust the tone of your writing depending on what occasion it is intended for. My favorite feature (especially for academic writing) is the plagiarism check. It compares your writing and word choice with other writings out there to make sure that nothing sounds too similar. There is a free version and a paid version. You can use it on a computer or a mobile phone. Knowing on your own how to proofread and make sure all the components are there is super important, but even native speakers need help sometimes. Also if you pay close attention to the specific changes that are made and look into the reasons why, chances are that you will learn to be able to replicate the results on your own.

Another way to make sure your sentence is complete is to check that it addresses only one or two things, not a list of things. If you find yourself adding "and" a lot, you have a run-on sentence. Keep your subject and predicate (all associated with the subject) brief and linked can make your writing cohesive and clear.
It also helps to read your work aloud. Many flaws can be detected if they sound wrong.

One way to check that your sentences in English academic writing are complete is to read them aloud. If the sentence sounds correct and makes sense, then it is likely complete. Additionally, you can use an online sentence checker or grammar checker as a final review to ensure your sentences are clear and complete.01/01/23
