One of the main things you want to look for in a record label is not only the reputable artists and music business professionals who work there, but the values that the label stands for. Island Records was founded in 1959 by Chris Blackwell. The artists that are currently represented by the label consist of Bob Marley, Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, and Jessie Reyez. Looking into the history of the record label, it is evident that Blackwell was very passionate and dedicated to his company. He stated in 2009, "I loved music so much, I just wanted to get into it, or be as close to it as I could."
