Reproduction: Both plants and animals can utilize forms of sexual reproduction. In plants, male sex organs are called stamens, while female sex organs are called pistils. In animals, the primary male sex organ is the testes, while the primary female sex organ is the ovary.
Development: Plant cells have a cell wall, while animal cells do not. All plant cells are totipotent (which means they are capable of giving rise to any cell type), while in animals, only embryonic stem cells are totipotent.
Nutrition: Plants make their own food through photosynthesis (autotrophy), while animals depend on other plants and animals for nutrition (heterotrophy). Plants store glucose in the form of starch, while animals store glucose in the form of glycogen.
