1. The media (depending on the outlet) can be used to change the way a person thinks. Some news centers have their own hidden agenda, which they want other people to believe. This is common in politics. I can recall when an outlet said that a shooting competition was a foreign government attacking it's own citizens.
2. Social media can cause addiction in some people, which will result in a lack of actual, face to face conversation. Instead of having a meaningful conversation with other humans, some people become obsessed with how many profile views, comments, likes, etc... they receive.
3. It is obvious that some news centers are biased towards a particular political affiliation. However, this is not to say that social media can be a great way to stay up to date with what is going on the world or with friends and family members. I've seen a lot of social media posts where people mention being engaged or expecting their first child. In these instances, I'm happy for them and offer my congratulations.
4. Some people are open to sending particular types of images to other people. Think about what could happen if two people who engage in a specific activity have a falling out. Those images could end up on the internet. Once they are on the internet, the digital fingerprint left behind will never be erased and can lead to future embarrassment and regret. Not to mention, purposefully leaking certain types of images can result in criminal charges of varying magnitude.
5. Finally, social media is a business. A business is designed to make money. There is a link between your shopping inquiries and what you see in your social media feed. Somehow, a site like Facebook is able to recognize what you are searching for on Amazon, and will then advertise the particular product or similar products to you. In fact, there is a statistic about Facebook that not every knows. You will likely not be able to count to 4 posts before you see an advertisement for something. This is because Facebook is a social media BUSINESS and they will make ad revenue every time you click on an advertisement.
