One theme for “The Wizard of Oz” is that it’s good to appreciate what you have. In this book, the main character, Dorothy, wishes to be somewhere else. However, when she is transported to the magical land of Oz, she finds herself in some scary predicaments and misses her home. By the end of the book when she finally is able to go home, she says, “There’s no place like home.” This shows that Dorothy has learned to appreciate what she previously had.
