You are not alone in your struggles with reading. My guidance to my students who have similar struggles is to motivate them to find their strengths and follow their passions. Just because you are not the best reader, does not mean that you cannot succeed. Find what motivates you and learn more about it, this will help you grow your reading skills while following your dreams. There are assistive technologies that are becoming more widely available for struggling readers. I suggest looking into "Immersive Reader". It is an application you can download on your computer or phone that will read aloud on most online platforms.
Struggling with reading and searching for caring guidance and support?
Hello! I have been in your shoes! I struggled in mathematics my whole life and was always feeling like I was not smart because of it. Guess what? I was WRONG. Just because my math skills aren't up there with Stephen Hawking does not mean I am not smart. I just have difficulties in that area of learning, but I have skills in OTHER areas of learning, such as reading. I bet you do too, and you may just need some guidance and maybe some alternative learning techniques to help you figure it all out. Every person does not learn the same way, which is why I use a range of techniques such as the Orton Gillingham methods to help students succeed.
