Actually there's a more important aspect to the agricultural revolution. Yuval Hariri, a brilliant thinker whose book Sapiens describes the history of humankind over the past 70,000 years makes an interesting point.
Prior to the agricultural revolution, we were a hunting/gathering culture. We had a balanced diet since there were different items available at different times and in different regions as we followed the food sources.
Once agriculture entered our lives it brought with it advantages, but also a seriously negative effect. Individuals and families were now tied to one plot6 of land and often had to survive on just one crop, frequently potatoes. Frequently malnourished, life became unstable and unpleasant.
Of course this doesn't answer your questions, but I am struck by Hariri's observation.
