Give me your personal connection to a cause and some organizations that work with the cause. (Personal Essay)

Question

For my reading assignment, I must come up with three causes that I could write about for my personal essay. However, I am struggling for what charity/organization I could write about and relate to it as well for my personal essay. I am in 8 grade, so it must be appropriate and not too advanced.

What are some ways in which you wish your life was better—or maybe some things you wish were better for someone you care about? If you have a dog, for example, you might find that you're very interested in animal shelters or preventing animal abuse. Or if you pass someone in your neighborhood each day who sleeps on the sidewalk, you might find that you're interested in housing rights.

The fact that no immediate answer comes to mind for you on this assignment can be exciting, because it means you have an opportunity to look at your life and figure out where you do want to advocate for yourself and/or help others.

Try looking at your family, community, and school. Does your community have access to good food and water? Do you feel like kids around you have what they need to do well in school? And what about you—is there any organization you want people to know about because they helped you or your friends and family? Or on the other hand, is there anything that you're grateful you have, that you feel like everyone should have?

Sometimes, it's easy to come up with vague wordings without knowing which specific terms to search for. If you have any ideas but don't know where to start looking for organizations, feel free to comment! I have a lot of experience with volunteer work and community organizations, and would be happy to help you find what you're looking for.

In order to find an organizations to write about, ask yourself, "What am I passionate about?" and "What are my hobbies?". When you answer these questions you can find organizations that you will enjoy researching. For example; if you like whales...then Marine Wildlife Rescue or Save the Whales are the organizations you'll want to write about. Type your likes into a search and it will come up with companies. You could write about the current virus outbreak crisis.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is a major organization you can write about. They provide information and guidance on how to deal with the virus/disease and accept donations.
