Pronunciation and speech for native and non- native English speakers
CORROBORATE (v): to confirm or give support to
CULPABLE (adj): deserving blame
MURKY (adj): dark and gloomy, especially due to thick mist
TRUISM (n): a statement that is obviously true and says nothing new or interesting
VILIFY (v): to say or write unpleasant things about someone or something, in order to cause other people to have a bad opinion of them
Jack feels it is a truism that paragraphs are often murky instead of unambiguous. He felt he was culpable for sending misleading memos to his team of fellow employees. Jack did not want them to vilify him, so, he looked for a method to corroborate his message before publishing his weekly memo to his team. Now Jack has his assistant read the memo before it is published. This cleared up wasted time due to miscommunication and earned him added appreciation from his team members as well as improving project completion rates.
