The Maze Runner by James Dashner is a great place to start with science fiction books. There are many great young adult fiction titles very related - I teach 8th grade and my students love books like the Maze Runner! Top recommendations would be: The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau, The Eye of Minds by James Dashner (since you loved the Maze Runner!), Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, the Divergent series by Veronica Roth, City of Bones by Cassandra Clare (this is also a series), and Incarceron by Catherine Fisher. Happy reading!

Ray Bradbury, Theodore Sturgeon, Zenna Henderson, and Frederick Brown, not to mention Asimov are fantastic writers and write SF. SF ranges from hard (dealing with the physical sciences and technology) to soft (with social and psychological issues). You simply have to decide what you like and dig in.09/29/19
