A French and English tutor who makes learning fun!
I actually knew an aphasic patient who could not speak or comprehend spoken language but could comprehend written text. He could not write, however, but he could answer written questions with a nod yes or no. The portion of the brain that comprehends written language is in the back of the brain, and the portion that comprehends spoken language is in the front. The back of the brain was not affected by the brain injury.
