The introduction and conclusion paragraphs are probably your best bet. If they primarily contain sentences that are fact-based, then the article is expository. If the author concludes on a note designed to convince you of something, the article is an opinion. If the ending includes speculation and asks questions, it would lean towards analysis. Of course, it is helpful to know the name of the publication -- e.g. if it is in a scientific journal, then you know the article is designed to explain some research objectively.
