Your brain being numb is a indication that you are physically tired. At the end of a five hour test I experienced the same sensation, and I thought I was going crazy! I had a deadline in that test I had to meet,
and there was no opportunity to stop and rest. Utilizing the physiological synapses of the brain, using recall,
memory, analysis, comparison, while structuring an answer that requires form, style, tone, and vocabulary, as
well as grammar and mechanics adherence is tough work! I've found that it is best to study with all the concentration you can muster, and then rest. A five or ten minute break is enough to let the mind rest after fifteen or twenty minutes of intense concentration. The mind or the brain is like the rest of your body, the more you repeat an activity, the better you get at it. So by studying in allotted time units you build strength and endurance in those practices. Best to you, and good studying!
