If comprehension is slowing you down, then what aspect of the comprehension is it? Often times it could be vocabulary, or just the content itself could deal with complex material or things you are unfamiliar with. If the texts you are reading deal with complex material/ theories etc. Then in general the more you read and familiarize yourself with the topics the more you'll understand, and comprehension will not slow you down. I think this would work for vocabulary also. You could practice vocabulary words, but again continuing to read about your content or topic will familiarize you with the vocabulary and content discussed.
I guess what I'm saying here is just keep reading, I believe the rule is it takes 10,000 hours to be an expert in anything. However long it takes you to complete those 10,000 hours is how long it will take you to get better. There are genuine speed reading techniques, but if you feel comprehension is the issue then that should be addressed first, before exploring speed reading techniques. You could read a page a minute, but if you don't understand what you read, what good is it? Feel free to reach out to me if you need more clarification or you still want to know the reading techniques. Hope this helps.
