Why we don't use "TV" before "miniseries"?

Why we typically say "TV series", but we don't say "[TV miniseries](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miniseries)" (i.e., instead of this, we simply say "miniseries")?Does it mean, that there are "theatrical" miniseries as well as "TV" miniseries?11 A _television film_ is a feature-length motion picture that is produced for, and originally distributed by or to, a television network, in contrast to _theatrical films_, which are made explicitly for initial showing in movie theaters.

Think of it this way. A tv series is a show that is intended to be told on a ongoing basis. A mini series is basically a made for television film that needs more time to tell that specific story than a film does. There will never be a second season. They are also called limited series. (I shouldn't say never, but if there was it would be more like a sequel to a film than a second season. And it hasn't happened yet)
