Hey! I'm a college student who loves reading, film, and teaching.
In my opinion, your understanding seems pretty spot on. I don't believe there's hard definitions for the terms and they're used interchangeably. But most people use reboot when it's the same cast or roughly the same timeline/canon, remake when it's the same movie made again with different cast, and a reimagining when the story is altered and reinterpreted.
