Time and practice is the best true answer to this. However, the more you are able to visualize what is happening in a text the better your comprehension will be. If you don't already visualize as you read, you will need to actively practice this which means slowing down your reading in order to be able to speed it up eventually.
Human beings understand best through more than one sensore experience. Create an image in your head to attach to every event or concept you read about, this allows your mind to hold on to the information more easily by storing a visual representation and then adding to that visual representation as you read and understand more. So if you are reading about molecules and you have an image for this in your head, the more information that you read about molecules the quicker you can make sense of it because you are esentially adding new pieces to an existing image rather than trying to make sense of words alone.
