This is a rather broad question because it really depends on the level of reading we’re talking about. However improving reading is usually related to phonics/phonetics, vocabulary, and fluency.
Knowing how word parts sound, helps us say the word correctly. Increasing vocabulary will help in understanding more complex texts. With fluency, when we reread a text several times, we can increase our speed and accuracy. Some suggestions - challenge yourself to learn a new word daily; time yourself reading the same text for one minute trying to improve each time; study word parts like prefixes and suffixes to help you break down and better understand new words; finally, read any and everything that interests you.
