Well done on having your own thoughts and knowing your own mind! In this particular case, however, your teacher is right. I can see, that after initially reading the sentence, you might think that the only reason for performing such a mundane job is for the salary. In other words, the guy is just in it for the money and could care less about the actual work. However, if this were the case, the sentence would read, "The man with the boring, repetitive job who needs money." Because the word "more" immediately precedes the word "money" in the sentence, the reader can infer that the man should receive additional payment because he must put up with such drudgery. Payment, alone, for enduring sure boredom isn't enough. He should, in fact, be paid extra.
