Your alterations are properly formatted and still make sense, but typically you would not make those changes and just leave the pronouns as is in the original. Otherwise you will technically change the meaning of the quotes.
For example, you introduced the quote as a “confession” by the character. Confessions by definition have to come from the person themselves, otherwise they are an accusation from an outside party. So by changing the pronouns from first person to third person, the quote is no longer a confession but an accusation.
These might seem like minor differences but it can cause significant contradictions in the analysis, or just be confusing for the reader.
