Hi Aniyah,
To me, this question is a matter of opinion. Happiness could be more memorable and powerful than tragedy depending on the character and the circumstance. Tragedies could be more powerful and memorable than happiness in a novel because of the suspense that comes along with it. Tragedies are created to stick with the reader and to teach a lesson after finishing the novel in some cases. In my opinion, tragedies would be more memorable and powerful because they evoke emotion and sometimes make the reader relate to the story.
